Lowrance GPS Sounder Problem
Was doing a drift off Kauri Ck with the split screen GPS/Sounder on, on a Lowrance LMS-339cDF iGPS when the unit went back to the power on screen & when back running I'd lost the sounder off the screen & could only get GPS. I tried leaving it off for some time but to no avail. The "Pages" button now does nothing but buzz instead of beep & access the menu. I had a Bluetooth handsfree gizmo in the console which I've never taken before. Could this have affected the unit. Is there a "Reset" button somewhere on these. I can't find the manual
Hope someone can help
Cheers

Re: Lowrance GPS Sounder Problem
Try a soft reset - this does not delete waypoints or settings. Basically, this process "reboots" the units software and it then starts up again properly.
Turn unit off
Press and hold The Pages key
Press and hold the Power key
Release both buttons when the USA map appears.
It might also help to take the map card out first.
Sometimes this kind of problem can be due to low voltage, so double check that your unit is getting good power and that no connections, fuse holders etc have any corrosion on them and that battery is fully charged.
There is a hard reset option if the above doesnt work.
See here for info on how to do it:

Re: Lowrance GPS Sounder Problem
Did the soft reset sort it or was it crook power supply?

Re: Lowrance GPS Sounder Problem
Soft reset did the trick. I'm leaning toward the Bluetooth hands free I had sitting on the console to being the cause as it's the first time I've taken it on the boat, but no proof really. All connections are fine as I give the unit a good clean after every use & it lives in a cupboard in the house. Maybe just Murphy at work.

Re: Lowrance GPS Sounder Problem
A quick question......how do you turn the HDS off? There are 2 ways:
1. Press and hold down The power button. This is the WRONG way to power off, as it does not allow the units software to do a proper shutdown. Can lead to the type of problem you reported.
2. Press the power button briefly and then scroll down to the shut down option, select enter. This is the recommended way to shut down and allows the software to shutdown properly.
Hope this helps.
