Thread: Sunny Coast Jewfish

    Post Sunny Coast Jewfish

Hey lads did a bit of searching and saw quite a wealth of knowledge on the jewfish, especially around maroochy river here.
I was just hoping to get some updated advice and maybe if im lucky a few land based spots where they've been chewing.
Live in Coolum but will go anywhere for the right fish..
I'm not one to pillage the waterways I only take what I plan to eat that day (catch a big fish = family comes over for dinner).

Has anyone got any up to date spots? or know of any good gutters along the beach that would be worth flicking a line in? What sort of by-catch would you see if chasing the Jews?

Whats the pick of the baits at the moment? Fresh mullet is the way I was looking but feel free to guide me otherwise if something is proving more effective. Also any mullet hotspots for cast netting off a bank would be great as well.

Thanks in advance lads and I'll be sure to keep everyone updated with photos.

If you live at Coolum, Yaroomba Beach is the place to fish. Look up the old Brownies Coast Watch video of the local Jewie legend from there.
