    Aldi Battery Charger

Any one using one of the Aldi 6v / 12v auto chargers if so what are peoples opinion are they good?

    http://www.aldi.com.au/au/html/offers/2827_19360.htm

I bought two today to keep my dual batteries maintained and so far like how they operator, previously l had a Projector Auto with no read out and only an LED to tell me when it is on float, when l connected the new Aldi ones both batteries where down around 12.8 volts the Aldi charger is maintaining them around the 14v

Advice opinions would be great, thanks.

I bought one too.. Have only heard good things so far but they are only 3.8amp at 14.4v so will take awhile to charge larger batteries but will be better for battery longevity. Now I just have to find a ctek connector so I can cut off the clips and solder it on so I can just plug it into all the ctek connections I have on my batteries.

I've had one for a while and seems to be ok. As you say they have a low amp output so probably will be good for maintaining reasonable condition batteries.

I ran an 8 stage charger over an old house battery a few days ago and got it up a bit. A few days later gave the Aldi a run at it and it only got it up to 13 v but given the batteries age and condition that is probably a reasonable outcome.

I've also had one for quite a while, works ok but it does get hot after a few hours so am careful about how long I leave it unattended. I use an all in one volt, amp, power meter inline with the charger and have found the voltage readings on the charger screen are not what it is actually outputting.

Can't go past it for the money though until I finally bite the bullet and get a Ctek.

I have had my first one when aldi first sold them (2yrs ago?) nearly 24/7 on my bike (only gets turned off when I take it for a ride) and it is quite warm to touch when charging but cools down when goes to float mode but my ctek that's on my car gets just as hot as the aldi charger.
