    Question Mangrove Jack Combo (lures)

Hi Everyone, as the Mangrove Jack season has already begun i was thinking about getting a mangrove jack combo for throwing lures, but i am unsure which one to get. I am probably leaning towards a baitcast combo, also what rod and reel size do you prefer as well as line class.
All help will be greatly appreciated
    Thanks PK

I'd suggest a Curado with 30lb braid and an appropriate rod around 5foot6. Tighten the drag as far as it will go and be prepared to use your thumb as well for any jacks over about 45cm.

i use a shimano baitrunner with 15kg braid and a shimano backbone rod to suit for livebaiting, with lures a symetre 4000 and 10kg braid with a 8 to 10kg rod

Poppin King , IMHO Scuttlebut AND Nathank are on the money but two very different styles. For me when live baiting a spin rod is the go with 30lb braid and 50lb leader to flick your lightly weighted livey out and to give you half a change when Mr Jack hits ( your livey is likely to be closer to the structure , for lure fishing ( as you have asked about ) I go a bit lighter with 20lb braid and 20-30lb leader on a baitcaster , theory is the lighter leader wont affect the lures action as much. For lures a baitcaster should keep you in contact with the lure more and it is more 'hand to hand' combat , everyone will have thier own theories though.
