Wow Steve, things must be pretty ordinary down your stretch if you have to come to Brissy to catch a fish. No wonder i did so poorly!!!

do you mean Freshwater Creek rabbi? It's north of dohles rocks. Cabbage Tree creek is south of dohles and can be quite ordinary for fishing.

    Cheers

    Hi Iain,
Nah, the missus has some friends who fished there many moons back and got some great muddies and wanted to go for a crabbing trip there because of the stories they tell. Huge crabs in abundance they say, but that was 26 years back!!
I think they said they fished the Pine river??
Its at Dohles Rock but i would presume its had the same pressure that most other populated areas have these days.

It may be the one you mention Si.?

I would prefer somerset Dam myself but I have to find out info to satisfy her curiousity about "huge crabs in abundance"

Thanks for the help plus any other offerings guys.

    Iain,
Took my small gear out a couple of days back and got smacked up by a good jew and lost it so I hit the creek behind the house the same afternoon and got smacked up by a good jack and lost it so I am pretty consistent at the moment and if I dont find "huge mudcrabs in abundance" theres a fair chance Kat will smack me up too

THere is a heap of info on the Pine in Ausfish if you search for "Pine River" you'll find heaps of threads including some that give a lot of info re where to fish.

Having said that it has been pretty hard work lately from everything we have heard. In our personal experience it has been pretty quiet since about May after a fantastic summer and Autumn. Haven't fished it much for the last 2 months but got on last weekend and didn't even take home a feed

If you crab the pine, don't let your pots out of sight.

Be careful if you do end up at Cabbage Tree Creek as the Nundah Creek arm opposite the main boat ramp is a green zone, check all your maps first.

To be brutally honest you would be better off driving another 45mins north and crabbing at Donnybrook and the creeks off pummicestone passage.
