Thread: To rust proof or not to rust proof??

Re: To rust proof or not to rust proof??

this subject has been raised dozens of times,,, electronic vs conventional,,,

Statue of Liberty still stands because of electronic,,, (true)

BUT some cars/4B's rust quicker than others,,, this is where the "real" debate lays

For those of you who may watch/know,,, where the "raw" material comes from to manufacture your vehicle of choice,, (meaning it has been documented),, then debate away,,

electronic does work,, so does conventional,,, BUT,,, we all don't have the time to emphasise on conventional methods,,,

stuffed if I do,,, still running the same electronic from the last 4B,, (transferable),,,

but the current truck still gets a thorough was down
    can it get any better??????????????,,,,,,,,,,,,,,http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hgG_TxEPaQE

Thanks for answering my questions. Sorry to hijack the thread, but how would you treat stone chips? Tectyl, galmet and touch-up paint?

Thanks for all the tips..........sounds like I'll continue as is and keep up the maintenance/cleaning and see how it goes........as far as products to use what would you think about regular doses of lanolin under for the chassis and engine bay area??? I like this idea
as it would be good to buy a bulk load as I use quite a lot of that stuff already on the boat and trailer.

Got a reference to this? I did a bit of research on this and Statue of Liberty uses PTFE to isolate the copper from the armature, which was iron but is now a mix of low carbon steel and teflon coated stainless steel. The copper has some barrier protection as well, but its had to find a non commercial reference to this (although I did find one). I cannot anywhere find a reference to electronic rust protection on the statue of liberty.

Only prob with lanolin would be if it didn't dry hard.....car would look like a lamington after a beach drive; this is why I never use it under my beach vehicles.
Love it for every other application.
