A week early

Hi all,
Thought i would go out for a quick flick for some flathead just before the classic. After picking up a couple of small fish my eldest picked up his pb.
The scariest part of the battle was the rod he was using, a $10 kmart special. Even though i have advised not use the rod it has now accounted for an 81, 66 and quite a few 50 models.
Anyway put up a great fight in shallow water and although i missed the first net shot we got it on the second.

Solid flatty Mick! Sometimes I wonder why I got caught up in spending big bucks on some of my gear cause my wifey does the same and catches some solid fish on the cheapies haha! Well done

Nice fish mate, I've seen plenty of big fish caught on cheap gear, the only sure thing expensive gear will catch is the human buying it.lol

couldn't agree more Bingo....it all boils down to the tool holding the rod...a friend of my'ne has the biggest load of crap gear and he catches more big snapper in the bay than anyone else i know....just go's to show.
