Maroochy River
Hey guys am heading out in the tinny tomorrow night chasing some Tailor and Jack hopefully . Any ideas on where to get some livies with the cast net? Is a wire trace ok for Tailor and Jacks? I am using gang hooks for pillies. Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

Hey Josh...I used to get poddy mullet in cast net in the main channel next to the restaurant up near the cotton tree carvan park...loads of herring around there too...well used to be, have not done it there for a while.
Moving up there in October (3 weeks time) and that will be where I will first try.... Current runs extremly fast ther as well so pick your tide times to suit.
Gotta Love Maroochydore.

As grunter says...also around the major bridge toward the northern side there are herring. Don't use a write trace for jack, it will put them off, use heavy leader instead

Same for tailor, do not use wire, heavier flurocarbon the go (40-50lb). If you haven't tried them, go the tru-turn pre-packaged gang hooks. They have swivels attached between hooks, makes ganging up a breeze.
