Please excuse a newbie question re RADIO FREQUENCIES
- local VMR frequency is VHF82 - got that
- what others do Ausfishers tend to use please?
thanks in advance, MalM
Haines Hunter 650 'Horizon' 200 4st Johnson (aka Suk DF200) call sign "Dozer" or "Uripper"
You want fish ....

When your in the creek (Round Hill) or at the ramp log on on VHF 82. VMR Round Hill.
If heading North, ie Fitzroy or Bustad Head/Pancake Creek use 82 to call VMR.
if going south ie Musgrave, Bannanas Gutter etc use 81 to call VMR ( but not in Roundhill Creek - use 82).
Boat to Boat out there fishing the plan is same as last year use VHF 77.

nice work mr & mrs hog... but leave a few for the rest of us!!!
fishing's as simple as 3 P's - patience, perserverance and PLASTIC!
I hate northerlies up here.
Team ReBait managed some livies near the 5 mile and Terry ( Jarrah Jack ) jigged up 2 Fryingpan Snapper... ???
Off to south Muzzie but wind and rain were playing havoc with us.
Wind dropped and we motored east of Muzzie for some parrot, maori and hussar. Playing around other spots for Coro trout, wire netting, cod, tomato cod, etc. Managed to put Boony's requested baits ( Hussar ) away as well. Got monstered once or twice and dropped a spanish ?? didn't see it, but hit the floating livie.
Saw bucket loads of whales, dolphins, turtles, sea snakes, albatross, mackies and birds. Had the Coastwatch plane buzz us and the lagoon around 3pm. Couldn't raise any other Ausfishers on VHF 77 all day ?????
Crap conditions really..... joggly is an understatement. Current was running hard out past Muzzie.
Had a reasonable day though and good to finally meet Jarrah Jack, Denise and ' angie pangie ".
The bar is nothing to worry about as we hit it...... in and out on an OUT tide, but the estuary is shallow so keep to the middle of the channels. bugger all livies at bait grounds, but the 5 mile seems to hold plenty at the moment. Mack tuna and Bonito working from about 20k's out, right to islands.
Filleting done, boat washed and breakfast eaten. Might try to install new fuel line on Colorado. long story.....
See ya's..

There is a fine line between fishing and just standing on the shore like an idiot
I wonder how much deeper the ocean would be without sponges
