In 2013we took a little trip
Along with Colonel Phillip to the mighty fishing trip.
We took a little plastics and we took a lot of bait.
And we caught the bloody reddish in the town full of mates.

    [Chorus:]
Webaited our rods and the fish kept a'comin.
There wasn't nigh as many as there was a while ago.
We baited once more and they began to runnin' on
Down the reefs edge to where they want to go!.

We looked out to sea and we see'd the reds a’ come.
And there must have been a hundred of'em now the fun begun.
They pulled so hard and they made the braid sing.
We stood by our overheads and didn't say a thing.

Webaited our rods and the fish kept a'comin.

Old Booney said we could take 'em by surprise
If we didn't bait our rods 'til we looked 'em in the eye
We held our drop 'til we see'd the sounder swell.
Then we dropped our baits and really gave 'em ... well

Webaited our rods and the fish kept a'comin.

Yeah, they ran through the wire weed and they ran through the barnacles
And they ran through the pinnacles where a hussar couldn't go.
They pulled so fast that the boys couldn't catch 'em
Down the reefs edge to where they want to go!

We fished our rods till the reels had melted down.
So we grabbed lots of joy and we fought another round.
We filled our heads with hooknups, on a trip of a lifetime.
And when we touched the JOY off, the REDS had lost this time.

Webaited our rods and the fish kept a'comin.
There wasn't nigh as many as there was a while ago.

G'day all, thought I'd say hi.
I'm Mick and will be coming with Giffo and can't wait!
Did a trip a couple of weeks ago up there and loved it.
On a side note, make sure you check and tighten all trailer nuts and bolts as the crew we shadowed had their nuts shake loose at the actual tow bar ending with the boat bouncing around on a secondary chain attachment 60km from Agnes! 6m tinnie so not a lot of weight.
    The potholes are still everywhere!
Look forward to a cracker week in paradise and hoping for more great conditions!
    Mick.

According to JT - NO! The phrase 'Big John' is apparently way off.

Bet about now he is wishing he didn't stuff up the landing of Mrs E B's fish.
