When I was looking for a boat I rang Sargents re hiring a landcruiser. They basically told me that they don't offer insurance if it's used to tow. If you break it you bought it. Ended up buying a boat locally.
You sure that you want to tow 3 to 3.5 ton that distance on a brand spanking new BT50?
Seems a bit harsh on the vehicle.

Just a quick update to this,I emailed the Whinchiton guys on the weekend, received a replay today. From Port Douglas to Sydney depot for a 26 footer (8ft Beam) on non roadworthy trailer as a back load.... $5800 ish. Looks like a long road trip is the go.

Hello SnapperScott,
what about buying second hand Landcruiser, use it to tow the boat home and then sell the 'cruiser.
Probably end up cheaper and you get to look after the new boat enroute.
Hi Scott, their number is(07)3888 1727, my contact there is Paul. I'm not sure who they use, but im sure they wouldn't use them if they were crap. Im also not sure if the size of boat matters in the cost, ive just bought a 545 glass boat, hope this helps.

speak with the caravan transport guys . Local caravan dealer will know who to use and who is OK They still know how to load and secure trailers properly and aren't the ripoff the boat transporters are but carry all insurances etc.
Decided to go with DJ Freight in Brisbane. Good service and a reasonable price.
Thats them!!!! Yes they are the guys that brought the cat to Brisbane
