Awesome fish ML. Well done.

Headed south over the border into cockroach country for a fishing trip with the boys.
Well, had a blinder!
I kicked off with a 6 kg plus snapper on a SP, then followed up with this beast:
Species: Snapper
Weight: 11.0kg on the scales at the local Fishing Tackle shop
Rod: Shimano Jewel 6-10kg spin stick, 2 piece
Reel: Shimano Saragosa 4000
Line: 20lb Power-Pro braid, 30lb flourocarbon leader
Jighead: TT 1 oz, 7/0
SP: Berkley gulp 7" in Sweet n sour Chicken
A PB by a country mile, and unlikely to beat this one unless I go to Sth Aussie and chase a big one down there.
Happy!!
Heres the smaller 6kg model:
Note to self: Don't argue with an idiot. They will only bring you down to their level and beat you with experience....

Your smile is bigger holding the smaller model mate, was the BP a hard fight?
Bloody great fish either way mate, well done.

Good to see Moonlighter, just rewards for the effort.

That's a cracker ML... would have been exciting on 20lb gear!!
Happy days...
Scoota...
Thanks guys. Was pretty pleased after the smaller one came on board, and in truth, it ran faster and longer than the big one.
But the bigg'un ran strong, I dont think it knew it was hooked for the first half of the fight.
I wasnt really 100% certain that it was a snapper until we saw it, it was just powerful, very heavy and stubborn. Took line when it wanted to, I just had to be patient and work it steadily. And hope and pray that the tax man didnt take a cut!
Cheers

That's all class to bring a fish home on light gear like that ML, there is no way you could unless you knew what you were doing. Well done!

Congrats on two fantastic fish.
Safe boating to all.

Nice fish for Evans! I recognized the bream hole in the background!
My mate was saying the stonker fish have moved in and by the looks of it haven't they ever!
Thats one hell of a nice fish there.
Well done mate.
Cheers, Doug.
Love to use Preditek or Kingfisher lures or Viva Lures when I am out fishing.
