Navman 8084 Northstar M84 wont read card.

In my Navman 8084 I want to download the waypoints to an SD card. The card I'm using is a 2 GB scan disk. The unit will not recognise it. i.e. it says it is not present. It recognises the C-map card in the adjoining slot. I remember reading something about the byte size of the card being an issue. Does it need to be say 16mB. Hoping a viewer can assist.

I have the 8084 as well and had same thing happen a little while ago with 2gb cardI had allready downloaded marks so yes it will read them but when i was trying to load them back in it wouldn't read card.Take c-map card out and try that slot as well.I ended up persisting and eventually it read card again but i also have a old 16mb card as back up and it seams to work well all the time.Trouble is finding them.
(Have you seen the bathymetric data card for offshore fishing work in these units.Seems to blow navionics away for detail.)
