    fisher boat

    Hi Guys

Been a bit of a sleeper on these forums for a few years

have been reading about the fisher boats and Iam very interested in buying one

have been looking very closely at a 6 maxi center cab

problem is, it is in brissy Iam in Cairns and i have never been for

a ride in one and would like to know if any one in Cairns would be willing to take me for a

ride in an equivalent size if they have one or know someone who dose

I will pay for fuel and buy you a carton really just want to go for a ride before i commit any further to the boat in brissy
    cheers

    Re: fisher boat

Bit of a hard one to find who owns one in Cairns but if the builders of these boats were still opreating you could get the information from them but i do not know if they are still in business.
Only owners of these boats could put you on the right track.

    Re: fisher boat

First of all is it a Fisher MkI or Fisher MkII?? Fisher Boat changed hands a few years back and are now closed?
    How old is it?
    What's it's name?
Any pictures as a lot of Fisher MkI's landed up on the brag mats here....and rightfully so.

If your serious about it get in touch with Origin Boats. They may be able to tell you all about it if it was a Fisher MkI.
I intend on living for-ever....so far so good

Changed in 2009? Either way, they are awesome boat. Good luck with it.

    Re: fisher boat

They were made to owners specs, so theres a good chance they'll ride differently anyway. I'd be jumping on a plane and taking that particular boat for a strap. Nothing worse than buying someone elses problem, and like any other brand, there were a few problem children from that brand as well.

    Re: fisher boat

If you are considering buying it pay Col from Origin who wouold have built it to do a prepurchase inspection to 100% be sure it is all OK as he will know it inside out and know where to look for any issues and confirm if it has been molested in any way. He may know the boat and it's current owner etc etc for the full history if it has ben sunk or anything sinister. He will also know who to get to check out the motor I'm sure or being local know the person who services it.

    it could well be

With low hours and no motor I'd realy check out why there is no donk. Col will know the boat and the story I am sure.

    Re: fisher boat

Yeah that's sounds like the boat

The guy said he sold the motor to his mate cause he was
Goin to upgrade to the 175 , but his brother who is part owners wants out now
So he is trying to get rid of it asking 41 no motor

    Re: fisher boat

Well it should be a good boat if it has been looked after and I tend to agree the 140 would have been a bit light on although no doubt would do the job propped correctly. But as suggested Col would be the best person to ask about it and advice as to what engine would be ideal for it.

Hopefully you will find someone to take you for a run. I own a 660 maxi hard top and it is an awsome boat and I haven't heard any negatives re the 600 Maxi.
    Good luck with it.

    Re: fisher boat

Hi boostn82 i run a fisher maxi 6.20 and if ya down around di fraser i would have no probs taking ya for a run, there a good boat and are surperb in a head sea,as for ya motor i would be looking at a 150 merc or suzuk. If its a 05 model it would of probably been built by ralfe who use to work for fisher. It dosent matter if it is a mk1 or mk2 ralfe, payne, and ash were all good welders.
