    Question H ydrofield verses kevlacat

    Bloke at work was interested in marlin broadbill,not interested anymore, so wants to know the pluses and minuses on 6/7m hydrofield verses 2400 kevlacat, so i thought the best judge and jury would be people who own them and use them, so i thought the best place to ask the question would be ausfish, so fellas give me info i can pass on thanks

    been in both, and in my opinion, it would be a Kcat every time.

    Yet to go in a 2400, only 5.2s and 6.2s but I have heard the driving position is terrible. You sit up high and then the steering wheel is low at your knees. If you are spending that sort of money you may as well put an autopilot in so you can overcome that. I'd go alloy trailer no matter what for longevity and to keep the weight down.

    smithy you would be supprised at the comfort of drving the 2400kc while sitting.i drive mine sittin down untill it get to a stage where you have to really drive it to get it to perform..i would hate to have autopilot on mine in any other conditions than near glass out conditions...

    I'd tell him to buy the 3000 series of boatpoint, twin 170 inboard shaft drive yanmars on trailer all 1997 model. asking less than 100k. you know my vote is always with a 'REAL' CAT forget the aluminium ones and definately not a markham. Kevlacat is good but I would have inboard diesel if I ever did it again. 23ft or better sharkcat would be best value for money
