    suzuki 140 pricing

Hi Guys, didnt get to the Brisbane boat show like i wanted as the weather was too good at 1770! just wondering if anyone happened to get special pricing for the suzuki 140 motors? I am considering taking the 115 Yamahas off my kevlacat if i can get into the suzuis at the right price, will also depend if there is a market and reasonable dollar for the yamahas, they have only clocked up 450 hours so there is no real need to update, just thought it would be nice to have that little bit more. Regards Mark

    Hi Mark

I will let you in on a little secret .....

My sources tell me that a new, upgraded Suzuki 140 is very close to being released. It will be a touch lighter, and significantly more fuel efficient - suggestions that it will use noticeably less fuel than the current DF140, which as we all know is already one of the most fuel efficient motors around. Sounds very impressive, this new lean burn technology.

So two things to consider - there might be some good deals around as they clear stock of the current model, and of course the new model sounds like a very nice bit of gear too.

    Cheers

    ML
Note to self: Don't argue with an idiot. They will only bring you down to their level and beat you with experience....

you should have no trouble selling the old Yamahas, they are a fairly sought after motor, I guess if you shop around you can get a decent deal, but then, sometimes it is better to just try your nearest dealer for a price, rather than run here and there.

    Re: suzuki 140 pricing

Thanks guys, the yamahas are 2006 models and if yamaha made say a 130 or 140 i would love to stick with them but if i change it would be nice to have just a little more oomph, were is the best place to advertise the yammys??? will just feel the water for a start and get some pricing of what change over i would be looking at. Thanks for your help

Yep, its all over the Web on the new DF140A Lean Burn series, also new 115 and 100 all using the same block, if you Google it theres heaps of info. Not sure on the Aussie release date but sounds like before the end of the year, probably old stock dependant

    Re: suzuki 140 pricing

hilta when i got the new2012 140hp suzukies from the 05 suzukie it was around the $22500 changeover that was everything from the batteries up,new gauges, throttle box ..to be honest i would wait for the new model...i am a bit dissappointed with the 2012 model i have..done approx 120hrs on them i cruise around the 23-24knts on 4000rpm and wot 39.8 knts..with the old outboards i used to cruise on 28knts at 4000rpm and wot 42knts..the new ones are propped right as i hit 6000-6200rpm wot...i would probably have gone to honda if i thought about it better and put on the 130hp on the cat..

    Re: suzuki 140 pricing

Thanks Rosco, yeh those figures do seem a bit lean, the 115 yammies are doing 20-21 knots ar 4000 and wot around 36 37 knots, would be dissapointed to spend the extra money for not much gain, no real reason to change the yammies actualy so i may just keep them yet, realy happy with how they run etc. this is the first boat ive had with 4 strokes and i may be starting to swing towards liking them, How are you going with the boat looking??? i should send you photos of my seafarer i think i will sell, probably not big enough for what you want but they are a great boat(for a mono)lol Regards Mark

    Re: suzuki 140 pricing

apparently the 140hp suzuki's are run in around the 160hr mark which this time of year wont be that far away for me..between cabbing and trolling will get there real quick unless it sells..the real gain in the outboards is the fuel usage..the 140 are alot better than the 115 yammies apparently...maybe send justin smith on here a pm as he had the 115 yammies and went to the 140hp suzuki's on his 2400 kc he would be able to give you more info between the 2

    Re: suzuki 140 pricing

    Hey Mark,
I was looking at the suzy 140's myself at the boatshow and as moonlighter said - there is a new model out due in Oct. The guys at Jeffers motorsport marine weren't sure on the new pricing but thought it would be around the same as they are now - approx $16000.

Laguna marina in Noosa gave me the same price as well

    Re: suzuki 140 pricing

I wouldn't say definite. Nothing ever is.

They were pretty confident in them being available before the end of the year though........
