    Brissie river quickie sat 1st

Dam missed the R2M this year but I was having a ball, me and the wife put 4000 ks on the camper trailer and went out to Longreach , Winton, on to Mt Isa and back to Charleville and Cunnamulla and back through St George home . An absolute ball camping under a million stars, freezing cold mornings, we saw so much and I had a few sessions hunting with the compound bow so I have a few pig and goat stories. I'm convinced I just love the outdoors no matter what I'm doing. Been tuning my two boys , arranging dates to do a full on fish/bow adventure you wouldn't be dead for quids anyway had a session yesterday in that bloody wind blowing down the river like a fan. Still got a bit of a fix with a few lizards on the old Jackall squirrels... a couple around the 40s , one around 58cm and a nice model at 72cm and solid as across the shoulders..she went well to. What a treat hiding out of the wind casting lures and coming tight on a few saltwater fish. I went home with a smile with all fish released cheers

Had a corker fathers day Andrew, hope you did too mate.. you have to love it when the kids are older and all working, you get spoilt with some fantastic presents and mate really the best holiday I've ever had....trouble is I want to hit the road again, gee this work business gets in the road of fishing and hunting doesn't it.....
I should have said before....the squirrel was flavour of the day, threw a few others without any interest... only had one squirrel in the boat and it was new in the packet so those bloody trebles were shot especially after the bigger girl gave it a work out..

PP... there are a few options I could think of for bow fishing the river, if you see a few of the authorities inflatables sinking ,it had nothing to do with me.

That big lizzy is faaaat! Nice catches. I ventured into the wind sat and came up with a nice jewy in the 90's for the effort. Ben

Well done blooey your always among them mate.

Alleycat... no mate not yet, joined Australian Bowhunting Assoc. but not any feeder club.... Used the Mt Isa bow club course while I was up there and had a ball...

Fishgutz...mate in the slow cooker and it comes up a treat, only way to cook it. probably a little on the big side but this one from Cunnamulla found its way into the pot
