can the red and yellow wires both go directly to the positive? since all power is isolated when boat is not in use anyway. cheers....

Re: hds conection ?
Helped my brother install a HDS 8 with structure scan today. Yellow went straight to positive with the red.

Re: hds conection ?
Perry Yellow wire is a trigger "switch" wire that will auto boot up unit if the red wire has power it.
I have my LSS structure scan Yellow wire hooked up to my sounder yellow wire so it boots up when i turn the sounder on.
Cheers

Re: hds conection ?
I had read where it may be prudent to hook up the LSS to a seperate switch as it uses quite a bit of power. This would be good out deep as you could leave the main unit on without the increased risk of flattening the batteries.
