    Hds10 600w Transducer upgrade to 1kw B164 worth it ?

I have seen the difference going from The 83/200 up to the 50/200 600w Transducer is well worth the money.
I have recently been searching around the 60-80m mark the 600W still finds the structure fine but to increase gain chasing fish I get alot more surface clutter down through the column.
I have the opportunity coming up to have the thru hull fitted and just wondering if anyone has upgraded their Hds 8 or 10 Lowrance transducer to the 50/200 1KW Through Hull ?
    Cheers

I have an HDS 10 with a B164 , great set up pity about the sounder, very clear readings on my boat, I'd go the wide beam if I were you, I am about to replace the hds with another furuno, but you will see a big difference with this transducer. You will need to make a spanner to do up the back nut on the B164, it's big, something with a small up turned handle is perfect because it will probably be a bit tight where it is you want it, talking trailer boat here.

Thanks Trev very impressive pics on the captains thread, can't get anything looking like that on sounder or structure scan with standard transducer

Worth every cent you spend on it. I have an airmar M260 for mounting inside hull so no need for a BIG hole. The pictures are good on Capt seaweed, but anything looks good in 20m water. Try 800m and see if it really works. phil
