If their site had history and pictures and features changes then he could positively identify it.
    Hi,

I'm working on finishing up the 2012 brochure but yes, one thing at a time (as I am just one man).

If you could link to another boat manufacturer that does something similar for me to have a look at that would be a help too.

Was a BARGAIN steal from my local dealer after last year's boat show. Very happy with it. Great boat with heaps of space for us to fish from.
I have had poor customer service though ... I contacted Brooker about 10months ago enquiring about buying a centre console unit from the factory (or via local dealer) and have had no response.
    Hi Robvee,

Yes that is horrible, that's why I've come into the picture now as Brooker could really use with working on their marketing/sales. From what I have heard dealing with Brooker (and from customers) is that Brooker customers love their boats but they do barely any marketing so other companies are able to steal market share. In either case I'll PM you with the contact details of the sales manager (if you're still looking for that center console).

I've got a 5m Brooker open discovery. Love it. It's been everywhere from the highland lakes of Tassie Fly fishing to off the shelf chasing Blue Marlin.

My only problem is the poormarine ply used in the floor which is now rotted - but I hv left it out in the open for a few years. i'd buy another one.

    Thanks Brett,

Glad to hear you like it. The guys at Brooker are good blokes and have treated me well, they've got high standards (which I've learned from dealing with them as far as the website).

    Thank You

It has been a great boat good value for the money spent IMO.

The only thing I can say bad about it is the paint job. Lots of corrosion around fittings (obviuosly didnt use Duralec or similar) and there is now paint lifting and comming off up the left hand side gunwhale (I wish I never had it painted now I look back) but I will have this repaired when I can.

Other than this it is an honest rig for the price.
    Hi Axl,

Cheers and thanks for the testimonial.

I have a 450 Seaman and very happy with it, What sold me was the extra's such as side decks, rails, rear step etc as standard whereas most other boats were extra money for the same
One minor annoyance (And there's always one) is that the rear step is quite narrow, It would be nice if it was a bit wider or had one of the rails removed so you could sit there on a hot day with feet in the water
As it is now my young daughter can't even sit there

I Bought my Brooker 4.1 Fisherman in 2008 Brand new. I felt it was good value considering the well thought of extras. Very versatile boat used from offshore to creeks. Overall very happy.

Re: Anyone own a Brooker here? Any thoughts?

I have a Brooker Tandem Axle trailer under my Yalta 555. It originally came with a dunbier single axle which I thought would be illegal so I upgraded to a tandem. The only reason I went with Brooker was the fact that Marine Tune in Burleigh used to sell Yaltas and thats what they put under them. Must be OK I thought. Well how wrong was I. Sorry to say Kosta but your trailers are poorly (see cheaply) made with fittings that rust out very quickly. Not to mention the poor overall design of centre rollers with gaps to wobble rollers with nothing to guide you on. When loading if you are a little bit off your boat will fall between these 2 sets of rollers and you have fibreglass on steel. Not a good combination as the hull on my boat shows. It is torn to shreds. I blame myself and lack of knowledge for purchasing it in the first place. But you really need to look at your trailers designs and fittings. they are poor at best mate. Worst boating decision I have made.

    Hi Jason,

Certainly sad to hear that. I'll take a note of it and if there's anything we can do on our side let us know (if you have any photos of the situation would be good to have those for our records too).

Couple of threads to look at here Kosta. Both outlining Brooker trailers and things to be done to be brought up to scratch. In the second thread you can see how they installed the blue blocks to guide the boat onto the centre rollers.

    Kosta,

I can absolutely validate The lumps claims, my 1617HDT has cause me nothing but grief and costly repairs. I have had to add multiple sets of mult rollers and plastic slides to prevent damage to the hull as result of a bad trailer.

Given my issues with it I would not buy or recommend to anyone the purchase of a brooker trailer.

    Regards
    Honda.
