Thread: Brisbane Boat Show

    Re: Brisbane Boat Show

    Hey Dicktracey,

I've been intending to get one for a long time on my old boat and never got around to it.
Maybe i'll splash out on the new boat.
I had a go of one when on Bill Corten's Bar Crossing Course in his boat, Bloody clever idea i have to admit.
I've just been to tight to fork out for one.

Hi fellas, sorry I am late in seeing this thread.

I hope you have a ripper time with your new boats. They are littered around the bay like old plastic bags..... everywhere I go I see one or two.

The strength is there I think, but not a superb finish in various internals. But that's ok... If it was superb I wouldn't have been able to afford it. And I can improve whatever bothers me over time.

I love my boat but I do know the design is a compromise like all boats are. I do hope that you find it suitable to your needs.... I don't think the design is an outsider type one. Doesn't mean you can't go out there but watch the weather....

Happy to answer anything I can help with.... I know that Anthony and others on here were very helpful to me about my new boat questions.

    Re: Brisbane Boat Show

Hi mate, yes the water test was great, i am very impressed with the ride, and it was a little choppy on the day, so it gave me an idea of the ride im going to get up here.
The test boat had a 90 2 stroke on it, so im sure the 100 4 stroke will be even better.
Getting excited now, even though delivery isnt until Nov, but im sure its going to be worth the wait.
Sorry for the delay in the reply!

    Re: Brisbane Boat Show

That's good to hear and it's good that is was a bit choppy too.
I bet november seems a long way away now doesn't it?

I have'nt heard anything from Brisbane Yamaha yet but i'm sure it won't be long now. I'll ring them later in the week if i have'nt heard from them.
I'm starting to get withdrawls with all this good weather at the moment.

    Re: Brisbane Boat Show

Well, should be this weekend or next weekend but i'll be surprised if it's on time going by my last experience.
But that was another dealer so we'll see.. here's hoping

Yeah sounds like your planning to get amongst em good and proper with all that new tackle. Good on ya.
I've nearly forgotten what fish look like it's been that long since i went for a decent fishing trip.
Won't be long now though i hope.

    Thanks

We bought our Baysport 620 from Brisbane Yamaha.

Very happy with the boat, it had minor problems on delivery which I sorted but I think for the big bucks the dealer could do a once over to make sure its spot on for pickup. Not a biggie but I work long hours so its a pain to get time off and travel that far to get things sorted, would rather it already spot on day one.

Get everything in writing, esp if you are promised any "extras".

Only major complaint I have is that the trailer wasnt setup right which made the boat difficult to centre on the trailer and it has always dragged down on one side. I did take it back and ask for it to be fixed but its still the same to this day so will have to get someone else to look at it for me. Also re the trailer is squeaks so loud it can be heard from the next suburb lol.

The boat itself great, plenty of room in the cabin, great handling, good bang for your buck.

I would def rec the boat and do not regret buying it.

Ive been looking at flights, trying to find a cheap round trip, i want to do the test asap, but not booked anything yet.

It will be my first boat with a drive on trailer, so will be nervous the first time.

I think you got a great deal and you should be very happy. I rec getting a keelgaurd put on before delivery for ap $400 more.

    Re: Brisbane Boat Show

Hi Ant, thanks for the info, we have asked them to price us up a keel guard, but as of yet they haven't got back to me with a price.
They were going to ask the guy who makes them which one he recommends. Im sure i saw all the things we spoke about on the copy i have, so id hope it will be all ok.
Would be a bit of a downer if anything isn't right, due to where we are, but if there is, the Rottweiler will be on the phone asap!! lol
We are having it delivered, as would end up putting over 3300k on my car and 1600k on the trailer on the way back.

    Re: Brisbane Boat Show

    Hey ant1971,

Picked up the baysport about a month ago just been a bit busy to post about it.
Very happy with the boat and for the price i can't really fault much on it, except i wasn't that fussed with the custom made stainless bait board, but it will do the job.
Only had the chance to take it out once so far to do some running in on the yamaha 4 stroke but so far goes nicely and a lot quieter than my last etec.
Looks like the prop they put on is just right too, although it definately needs trim tabs imho, just to give it a little more lift at the stern. A 4 blade prop would probably help with that too.
I'll try and put up a picture, i hope it works...
