Snapper off the beach :) In no swell .

    Hi all ,

Im a avid beach fisherman spend countless nights off the beach and last nigh the conditions were too good, small surf light offshore wind and no current. Got down to my lil gutter round 1am on the high tide straight away got dusted by wat im sure was a huge tailor could feel him jumping, but i went to hard and pulled hooks.... RRRRR my mind was thinking damn another bad night. 20 mins later i got smashed good 30-40m of line poor of damn a shark, than it stopped bucked and thumped Hmmmmmm maybe a jew. After another 5 mins landed wooow was not expecting that.Just shy of 19kg soooooo i was soooo stoked was gonna go home but thought stuff it lets fish till 5am. Heaps of tailor came in no quality ended up with around 9 . Ended up filleting one and throwing a slab out bang within 1 min i had a strange fight on my line lots of solid head bangs . What the a solid snapper came in weighed in at 5.8kg not huge but off the beach what a shock.

A week ago went up the spit mixed it with the crowds for a few choppers , once a year's enough of that for me back down south

Had a bit of bad luck down your way , missed two very large fish different nights , broke one off and didn't get the hooks in to the other , thinking probable big silver boys ,that's i was aiming for

That is a cracking photo , very impressive

I am not even going to try and top that effort Scott, but i do have plenty of mack tuna and other fresh bait from this mornings paddle so i might soak a few slabs off a beach somewhere soon. Don't forget the days newspaper in the greenback shot. That is def a stonker trout btw.
    regards Chris
