Help please GPS guru's! Waypoint Format conversion from mapsource to GPSMAP

I just loaded in a heap of waypoints into Mapsource in the Decimal minutes format (Hddd mm.mmm) but I have my plotter (GPSMAP750) set to Degrees minutes seconds (Hddd mm ss.s). So when I upload the new waypoints will the plotter automatically change the format of the new waypoints and stick them where they should be or will the whole thing turn to custard and the accuracy of the new points be compromised? I'm adding new points to a whole heap of existing points so it's not a simple matter of just re-doing the whole database of waypoints. I'm holding off the uploading in case of a stuff up that is not easy to fix.

    Any help appreciated!

Crunchy, i've got a garmin 750 and the homeport software. I actually tried what your asking asking when I fist got it and was fiddling, had homeport set on decimal minutes but changed the plotter to minutes seconds. Waypoints uploaded fine no worries. I'd bet you would be right given these are recognized formats and I would think different software and good quality units should deal with it automatically as mine have in the past. If your worried, just change the plotter format to that of map source, upload and then change the plotter format back to what you want.

I regularly add marks to my Mapsource program in both formats, it reassigns the preferred format to non preferred formats automatically. then I upload the lot to the gps after verifying the points locations on the map.
Generally I find that if a mark is in an incorrect location it is usually a datum error, amazing how this current preferred datum has been in place here for well over a decade and you regularly find marks in the previous preferred datum giving you the error.

Yeah it won't really matter. Those two formats are just like saying 3/4's or 0.75 - essentially two ways of saying the same measurement. The degree of accuracy might be slightly different but shouldn't be enough to worry about with the gear your're using.

Confirming yes you can input decimal format into mapsource and the unit automatically converts to ddmmss.s without any issues.
