    Teewah beach conditions

Can anyone please advise on the conditions lately for Teewah beach? We are off up there Friday the 7th for a couple of days and should hit the beach around 11am-12pm for the last of the run out tide.

I've never been past Noosa on the road but the missus has (we are ex WA) and we have a new (to us) 4WD if you can call it that ... it's a 2010 Grand Vitara V6 and I have some 16" steel wheels and fitted them with new 245/70/16 AT tyres. Should be all good once the pressure is down but lacking the ground clearance for now until we get a 2" lift kit. I have a fair bit of experience driving on soft sand in WA and have packed a snatch strap, rated shackles, shovel, compressor, recovery point for rear but front recovery point is a bit of an issue that I will work on over the weekend.

Any recent experience there would be most welcome guys.

    Hi
Don't know what the conditions are like at present but the beach itself is usually good to drive on. They have done the third cutting and last time we were there it was really good and you should have no trouble if the beach is good.

You will get all the info here.

3rd cut is starting to get a little soft and entries to the camping areas also. Nothing difficult providing tyre pressure is down.
The beach itself has had an enormous amount of sand build up with the recent calm conditions which has created a high bank at the high tide mark with lots of 'ridges' to slow everyone down. Just ensure you stay on the high side of any wet sand patches you see - saw about 20 vehicles bounce through a drain north of Teewah that is 18 inch deep melon holes because they went the low side. I was entertained though.

Thanks. Got back yesterday didn't get bogged at all.

Headed back from the camping area at pretty much high tide in the morning and it was easy for 95% of the way. The last few kms was a bit dicey travelling in the deep ruts and the chopped up soft sand but the Vitara handled it pretty well but I had my doubts there a couple of times. The cross member under the transfer case makes a nice sand squeaking sound when it bottoms out on the sand in between the ruts. Did Rainbow Beach, Leisha Track and Freshwater track also the day before.

I was also up there with the big kedron van, beach was good,

The water was still to cold to swim,

So much for the 50km/ hr speed zones, there should be speed cameras on the beach

I could not believe how busy it was,

Fish_Two we are off to cooloola on fri in a landcruiser towing a camper and plan to cross on the ferry at noosa and then go as far as Red canyon or there -abouts . I see you took a van and I assume you went this way without problems .Do you think I will have any difficulties?
What was access to campsites like from the beach ? Any dunes to climb or is it much as it always has been? [ we have camped there over many years ].
I read the parks webs site which is a bit off putting and after reading your note it seems the govt people are a bit over cautious!!

The beach has had massive amounts of erosion in the earlier part of the year. See recent beach updates here: http://www.ausfish.com.au/vforum/sho...Conditions-ATM

Wasn't the pic used in the Courier JC - twice? Saw that crew of 5 or 6 vehicles come past Teewah - doing it easy.
Beach had recovered substantially and could get along at high tide if need be - which saves having to repeatedly blow in breathalysers.
