We were hooking them up on whole hussar butterflied and whole large squid.
There were some nice trout, mauri cod, spangley emps & plenty of trout taken near by after letting the boys know that we were having triple hook-ups on reds.We didn't let them know to early in the session until we had boated 8 between us and thought we had better share the love. We ended up taking 10 alone and the other boys ended up with a few each
    A first trip i won't forget

    Re: Red time

thanks for the replies - love the red fishing and did a fair bit of it up north before moving to brissy years ago - there's some ideal ground up there at 1770 and come across some very potential lumps & bumps and are looking at another run shortly to sort out.

    Re: Red time

Thanks for the rpelies - looking to go back up next month and work a different moon phase and see what results you can get - seen some stonker pearlies come from 90-100mtrs. areas down to the great trout ,parrot in 40m - the reds we caught were in a small area and once drifted past this small rise they were non existent - but we fished the edges of the reef the next day in a different area for 2 nice reds in an hour - big baits big fish!
