    cairns in august

    hi all,
    im off to cairns on friday for a week and hope to do a bit of fishing. i have no idea where to go or what is around this time of year. if any of you could give me a starting point or a couple of gps points to try any help would be appreciated. i will have a 4.9m centre console to use also. not after anyones spot x just dont want to waste a week.

    Mate too windy to do any meaningful offshore work. If you've got an electric try the snags, use lures that work real slow. Barra and jacks will still eat as long as their gills are moving. Probably more likely to get small trevally though which can be fun. Otherwise anchor upstream of any decent snagpile, berley into it and use lightly weighted baits. Should work on bream, jacks, trevally etc.

    The forecast doesn't look too bad. You might get a bit wet in the cc but that's half the fun!
    Get out amongst em.
