Purchasing Garmin - Truly, my head is spinning!
Guys, can any of you offer some opinions on where to buy Garmin gear at the right price currently?
We're wanting to purchased a large package (from radar, to plotter, sounder, to auto pilot, and everything in between), and I feel like I'm going around in bloody circles!
Would really appreciate any feedback you can give, while trying to avoid the old "my mate .... sells 'em" caper.
Really, thanks for your honest help in advance!

I bought a plotter from there, was the best price I could find locally, complete dill of a bloke I dealt with though.

haha, thanks fellas.
They're nearby to me but for some reason, hadn't considered them!?
I wonder if there is a couple of "levels" of dealer when referring to Garmin? Even one of my semi-retired in-laws is a dealer as he sells a bit through his own boating contacts, but to be frank, his prices don't seem good enough for the amount we wish to purchase (we're not best buds though lol).... it's all kind of confusing.

Just bought a 18HD radar and the Aus prices are truly a joke. Best I could find was @$2500 and in the US they are @ $1000 ?????
Some other stuff seems vaguely competitive here though.

It's crazy isn't it!
Did you purchase from the States? May I ask from who, and if it worked out well?
I'm not ruling out that possibility.

I had a few problems, 1st US store I tried couldn't ship it, and I ended up finding what I thought was an Aus store selling them for @$1400 including freight. Turned out it came from US anyway but was all good , took about 7 working days.
http://navi-technology.com was the place. There are cheaper places on ebay though...if yer game
