Thread: Beach worming

    Beach worming

Have the sudden urge to give worming a go. Must have been from the last time I had to open my wallet.

There is a lot of videos and articles on the web about how to do it. Was wondering however, are there better beaches for a beginner to learn this new art.

I live in Brisbane but am happy to drive any where on the sunny coast/gold coast.

I had heard that the flatter beach the better it will be for the beginner????

    Cheers.

Regardless of the beach I would say the key is going with someone who knows what they are doing. Listen and learn.
I'd probably say anywhere that doesn't have a lot of tourist traffic would be ok - needs to be relatively flat, close to low tide (start before low) and better on a larger tide height (not neap tide). Also better with medium sized swell - too little and you may not get enough wave action. And better when not too windy.

Sunshine Beach was where we learned and I'd have to say they were definitely easier there than at Fraser...no idea why, perhaps because they were a bit smaller(??) but definitely easier (mind you that was in the late 70s-really starting to show our ages here...)
