Just back from a week at Iluka. Almost every day consisted of 30 knot winds from the South-West round to South-East, frequent squally showers and big seas making many locations unfishable or almost so. Still, I was there to fish, so every day produced another pile of soaking wet fishing clothes spread out to 'dry' and another mild to moderate case of hypothermia. On top of that I was being good and having a 'dry' week - at least until the wife and daughter went home on Sunday - so I couldn't have any medicinal rum to speed my recovery.
Fish were fairly hard to find but I managed enough to feed the family and give some to the rellies. The quality wasn't great - in one bream session I caught 21 and kept only 7, and the luderick were only average for that location. The best bream for the week went 38cm and the best luderick abot 41cm.
Another great week in paradise!
