Hopefully able to post some pictures and full report when I start nightshift on Friday. My question to you all is relating to the position of steering console. I have made new console from fiberglass composite panel and plan to site it approx 300mm in from gunwhale to enable workaround room and removable floor panel to access cables etc. I was planning on 2.1 metre long casting deck at bow which means steering will be around 1 metre closer to stern. I am just wondering if there is an equation to work out ideal location of console regarding weight distribution. Or perhaps someone out there has a 5m topender and is able to measure steering position for me. off to the welders on Thursday for tags and frames to be fixed then the fitout fun begins. I have cut and reused existing console so I don't have to disconnect gauges etc and it will be a simple rewire job. any advice appreciated. Boat is 5.0 millennium hull seawasp, same hull as topender I believe.
