Plug is 12mm deep you can right through without damaging anything behind it.. just stop when through the plug. IMO an easy out wont do the job.. maybe drill and weld a bolt in there.. heat the surrounding area as hot as without melting the aluminium.. I have seen plated welded over this hole!

    Thanks buddy.
I'll try drilling it tomorrow and see what the easy out can do.
Its a pretty big easy out at least 12mm die.
If that fails I'll stick a bolt in and weld it.
The only problem I can see with the easy out is the nut expanding as the easy out bites in.

So with the swarth that comes of the drill bit which falls in to the exhaust port just comes out through the exhaust outlets. ?
Im just worried about the little bits of swarth causing rust in some other area.
    Thanks again.

you can buy the alloy plugs here for about $10 each plus a few bucks postage.

Any swarf will get blown straight out the exhaust next time you start it

    Thanks heaps guys.

A couple days ago when I heard about this problem I ordered the gold plug from the U.S.
Not cheap at $40 delivered but well worth it if it saves the motor.

try not to use an ezy out, when it breaks, you will be in a whole world of pain.

Is this an issue in a 150hp 2006 Suzuki?

    Hey fellers.
Good news the easy out did the job and got the plug out.
Wasn't easy cause with the first attempt I snapped the tip of the easy out off and I spent about 10 min getting it out but then I drilled the hole bigger and woo hoo the little sucker came loose.
It was actually in good condition with hardly any rust.
I need to run a 18x1.5mm thread tap to clean the thread up as the alloy thread on the housing looked a little rough.
Just a piece of mind for me.

    Jclay.
As far as I know it's only the 90 115 and 140 with this problem.
