If I am going away I simply load the marks for that general area and all marks are used with the same colour coded reference.

Jack, So do you have several folders on your SD card and you select the one you want to just overwrite the marks with each time you go out. I was going to look at my Garmin 750 and see whether I could load separate folders into the unit, unfortunately not spending enough time at home to play with the thing.

I generally load the spots i am likely to encounter to the card, the rest reside on my computer or onto SD cards which i can switch as desired for an extended time and location trip.
I suppose I could load several folders onto one card and open that one folder, havent looked into that option to be honest, I have heaps of SD cards here anyway.

Scoitt, lovd OziExplorer but I had an older version but it died with th eold pc and its old operating sysem, didn't want to work on the new one at all, I might purchase a newer version if I knew I could upload to the garmin 750, does it have that option on your version.

In short Dignity, I don't know for certain.
I have only hooked up to a Garmin Handheld, and do that rarely these days, most of what I use it for is sorting out of Waypoints on maps, separating points into areas, planning trips/distances etc. It is a little antiquated but I am still manually entering points into my Navman Plotter. Admittedly, it does save alot of time being able to view everything in Ozi, I only end up entering exactly what I need into the plotter manually, and I can do it in the comfort of in front of the computer etc, but my process could be better.

Regarding the Garmin 750, I just had a quick look in Ozi and it is not listed in there specifically, however there is an option to select "Other Garmin", the only things that may be different would be cosmetic I would assume, such as the waypoint symbols etc, and I think you could get around that by using basic symbols.
How would you connect up to the Garmin, does it support USB? If so, I think you would be OK, but I don't want to give you wrong information.

Scott, my old version of Oziexplorer had the same options although I would think that the newer versions might have updated GPS units by now. I did love that old program and found it a breeze to use, especially when you could scan any map into it and I did much the same as you. With the 750 it uses an SD card to transfer data so I might have a look at Oziexplorer and see what GPS units it supports these days.
