Scarbrough Snaps 14/7/2012

Headed out about 12pm today with a mate of mine to catch the incoming tide bay was flat so I loaded up the tinny and armed with some fresh pillies and squid off I went to my little spot x. Pulled up baited up burleighed up and it was not long before I was on fist snap 38cm in the esky second 42cm in the esky 3rd 45cm in the esky 4th 46cm 5th 38cm 6th 42cm. I got my bag limit in about 30 minutes the place was just alive with bait fish and the conditions were just fantastic all up we spent about 2 hours on the water got 6 good size fish and I even got a small Mackeral on my hard bosy deep diver lure another fish I have got there now which I have not come across in that area it was about 47cm but man did it smash the lure and put up a fight I truly cannot believe how quick they swim...The make a tailor look like a turtle haha I cannot believe how well it fished today the rods were just getting hammered for about an hour and then it went quiet you could not wipe the smile off my mate ollie's face nor mine. Great arvi on the water.. I even had the skipper of Incredible charters asking us where we got them and he was pretty surprised when I told him I got them about 1.5ks off scrabrough beach.

Don't really know about the upside down photo I think I need to teach the missus how to take a pic on the Iphone haha.

Well done . Imnow more depressed then when my back let go on monday . But you have a hot spot there and i knew the fish would come on after these strong winds drop out . Keep it up it will be a week or so before i can get there again unless i can get the back sorted more by next weekend

Nice job mate, i'd have a smile ear to ear as well! The bay was looking great, I saw 4 boats in a line about 1.5km straight out from Scarborough beach...i've had a quick sound around that area before but didn't find anything, might have to have a better look!

They are there mate I had no shows on my sounder either when I come across this spot I just pulled up threw my line out and cleaned up when I first come across it. I noted the conditions at the time and have not looked back since.

yeah i know just once ya got the snap snap bug hard to not want to fish but yeah i got a few things i want to improve on my boat rod holders for one so that will keep me sorted and if im 100 percant then ill come down will have to see after the surgeons first and work out plans from there

mick u keep this up you will convert me back to bait. You almost had me heading out for a fish out of scarby but not long after gettin ready to go noticed the wind has picked up a bit so gonna give it a miss. Might be worth headin down to see if that little seal is still there though

Haha thanks Dean I don't have alot of luck on the plastics so i just muck around with them while I have the baits in the water. Yeah the breeze has picked up so I am just going to wack a dvd on grab a beer and chill out.
