Nice one, Darren ! Looks sweet ... how have you found performance off the mark vs the 2 stroke ?

Did you get the 100kt tank made for it or pick one up ?

    Well done mate !

    Hi guys,

You gave me some great idea's, I think my way forward is a lot simpler and better now.
I reckon I may reduce the tank and add some lead up front. Just for interest, the Optimax does power this boat beautifully with top speed 5500 achieving 37 knots.

    cheers

    Hey Guys,

    Nice tubs.

I bought an off the shelf tank from Sant marine. It's the prefect length, height and width and has the fillers and breathers in all the right spots. Im pretty happy with it.

I'm toying with the idea of adding a fresh water tank in the Vee of the bow to make it even better too.

    Hey,

While i'm at it, have any of you guys had water come in through the rigging tube on the transom where the cables come through?

In testing the boats stability I was able to get water come in through there pretty easily. Im not sure if it's worn and needs to be replaced, or if it's just a design fault.

I havn't had a chance to look into it too much yet.

    Hey Mate,

Any pictures of your tank install. I assume that you disregarded the old fuel tank.

    Cheers

    Hey guys,

    Just for info.

I cut my tank down to 100l shifted forward and put 60kg lead in the anchor hatch. The boat performance is now excellent, no more porpoising, handles leading and following seas. Boat sits nicely in the water, not bum heavy any longer. Haven't tried it in all conditions, will adjust the weight up front with a few more trials. Have adjusted the position on trailer to give 70kg on the ball.
    cheers

    Hey Guys,

I just thought i'd post these pics up of my pimped 510 Outsider.

Pretty much done everything I wanted to at this stage.

One day I might remove what remains of the antifoul that was put on many years ago.

The old owner is on the website here so I hope he sees what became of his baby.
