Re: fishing rod lathe
Matt,
Plenty of choices mate all depends on how much you want to spend, my advice is by the best quality you can. I have found the ALPS Delux chuck lathe one of the better ones I have used. I also have a renzetti and while I dont mind it I do prefer to use the Alps lathe, however I have converted a renzetti multi spool tensioner to fit the Alps bed.

Matt,
like Pedro has said, the deluxe alps machine is great, and i,m glad i was talked into buying it all those yrs ago.
having said that but ,i have a sewing machine set-up as well for when i am constantly wrapping... just stand on the pedal and go.i,m also building a drying machine that will take 5 rods at the moment.

Nice peice of gear there Rfarren im gathering thats the dryer attached to the outer middle roller very clever bit of gear and i realy like those roller they look more functional than the other standard ones you get on the power wrappers

Re: fishing rod lathe
I use a Pac bay Power Wrapper, its on the cheaper end of the scale,.....But I upgraded the Plastic Headstock to a Aluminium one which made a heap of difference .

Re: fishing rod lathe
Chris69
it is a great lathe
i still have my old one which i will setup as a turning lathe for cork/eva
The guy i got custom power wrap off has another one or two left (brand new still in the box) if any one is interested
the cost is about the same as what it would cost if you import one
