Cheers PerryI am a fisherman,it's not something I merely do,it is who I am! Fishing is not simply my escape,it is where I am supposed to be,it is not a place that I go, But a life long journey I am taking, it is a passage that was shown to me and that I will continue to show to others. When you understand all of this, you will then know me and we will fish together.

Re: home made wet box
I did much the same as swampdoggy on a previous vessel although parafin was the supposed to be the good oil then but I found that parafin didn't like most silicone sealers and eventually leaked and I thought that gliserene has similar properties, a mate of mine had all sorts of similar problems. These days I thought that non toxic coolant fluid was the go, the green one from memory. At the moment noth my transducers our mounted outside on the hull but I am looking to building a wet box, it would be glassed into the hull. One of the sad signs of our times is that we have demonized those who produce, subsidized those who refuse to produce and canonized those who complain.
