Also when drift fishing the speed jumps around less than on the Lowrance. That way I get a better gauge when I am drift fishing if I am drifting at 0.8 of a knot or whatever compared to the Lowrance that jumps from 0.6 to 1.0 every second and all over the place and you have to average it more in your head. Also at lure trolling speed to get a good speed, it jumps around less. The other advantage is you can hit mark on the Furuno if you mark a fish or high spot, even if it is a while ago, scroll the cursor over it and hit mark again and it will show the lat and long on the screen. It doesn't automatically ad the mark, you would need a Furuno plotter linked in to do that, but you can manually enter that waypoint into your Lowrance and you know it is the exact numbers for the high spot or the fish or whatever. How many times at speed do you run over something and then go bugga after it has been and gone? Now it isn't such an issue.
