Hi guys was wondering if anyone can help me? I have a fishing rod blank that i am trying to identifty. It has the following numbers and letters stamped on it CR5726FT. What i am after is who made the rod blank and how many wraps is the rod blank. Any info would be a great help.
Just had nugget reply to another post about this rod blank CR) stands for Club Rod 5) 5 wrap 126) 10'6 FT) fast taper. beleives that the 7 could be a 1 which would make more sense. anyone else think the same thing?
The club rod series were often slow taper estuary rods and blackfish rods around the 10' mark...if you look back at some of the old pics in Anglers Omnibus etc you can see that many of the guys used that style of rods in competitions all with Alveys....and I guess part of fishing clubs. I am guessing that fishing clubs were pretty popular after the war? There wasnt anything like the range we have available now and they must have been pretty popular. I have built a few CR 4126's and they are really soft but great with light line and unweighted yabbies etc. I may be a million miles off and would be happy to hear more info...
