    Fish ID Please

Hi all, i caught this out at Brennan's off Cape Moreton yesterday, it looks like a cross between a moses perch a jack and a coral trout. note that white spot on its body just behind the dorsal, there was an identical one on the other side. it also had some sharp white fangs - its not on any of my id cards - what is this fish?

    Hmmm, interesting.
    Cheers, Doug.
Love to use Preditek or Kingfisher lures or Viva Lures when I am out fishing.

It's a red bass mate. And a no take species. I don't know about the white spot but maybe a parasite

red bass is my best guess but i am not completely sure. the white spot was no parasite, it was clearly part of the fishes skin / scale pattern. there were identical white patches on either side of him.
BTW - he measure between 35-40CM and was carefully released without harm.
