Victorian recreational tuna fishery is under Threat from the Federal Gillard Government!
“The Commonwealth government has been formally asked by the Victoria Coalition government to give assurances that recreational fishing for Southern Bluefin Tuna will be allowed going forward but the request has either fallen on deaf ears or more concerning, is being totally ignored” said Dale McClelland campaign coordinator for WE FISH

I personally think this is bigger issue than one particular party screwing anglers, it’s a result of our so called environmental groups becoming too powerful and having too much influence over the political process, the fact that all these groups enjoy a status as a tax free charity, that according to the ATO must not include lobbing even if it has a direct impact on the environment, yet if you look at their pages its almost all about lobbing, they have a tax fee status as a charity to educate the public, its time some questions are asked and what they say is placed under some scrutiny, to evaluate not only its valid but also what its motives are.
