soft plastic hook with no jighead

where can I buy straight jig head type hooks that are a straight J hook with a lead bit on the shank to hold the plastic but with no jig head and no offset eye

I just want a bare J hook with a lead bit on the shank to hold the plastic

    dunno what it is called

thay are used on the 'swinging' hook types of jigheads where the J hook is attached with a split ring

    cheers

I have 7/0 hooks in the style you describe and with lead on the shank to hold soft plastics. If you want some give me a ring or PM me.

Wouldn't a hook be better made out of something stronger then soft plastic?

Sorry. Nothing better to do. It's raining and cold and I've already done the vacuum and washed up the breakfast things.

No, not quite. The HWS are all bent eye hooks and are more about adding weight.

I don't want much weight on the hook, just something to hold the plastic onto the hook.

    cheers

On some of the larger 6/7inch plastics I use a 7/0 long shank hook on a paternoster rig and pull the plastic up over the eye of the hook they seem to hold on like that ok. Just another option if you can't find the hooks your after.

The Nitro elevator hooks have the lead sleeve to hold the lure on and the eye is turned 90 so that when a split ring is added to those type of lures, the lure will sit straight. The other option is just to use a wide gap hook which relies on another bend in the shaft to hold the lure in place (check ausspinlures)

You could try the Lunker City Lunker Grip weighted hooks 7/0, 9/0 & 10/0 although looking at them again they may have the eye the wrong way for what you need.

Re: soft plastic hook with no jighead

i don't want it to sit straight - I want the hook to be offset like the eyes on the sinker, and to have absolute maximum action

8 oz ball with 5/8" holographic eyes, hell of a sinker, will need a big bit of plastic....

How about a drop of superglue on the hook shank then pull the plastic up over it? zero weight added that way and it is very effective.
