    I've only kept 1 but I recon it was great grilled on the bbq and also fried in b/crumbs. They are superb sport and I'll continue releasing unless I can't get one to swim off. It certainly tapered off for a while after the floods but I know it's picking up now. Catches of threadies are on the increase in several other creeks in the Brizzy area as well.

    They don't freeze well. Try them fresh. Excellent table fish.

    I've eaten two threadies over the past thirty years. The first came from the Everglades area in the noosa Rover near 30 yrs ago. It was very good eating and was about a metre long.
    The last was about 5 yrs ago at about 90cm long and it was crap, flesh that didnt set well and not clean tasting. It came from the Bribie passage near the Ripples.
    I like them as a sportfish but if I was to chase salmon for the table I would rather go to CQ and target blues, 10 times better every time.

    What is the most southerly area someone has caught blue salmon on a semi regular basis??
