    Low Mount wilson SURF conversion

    hi guys.

I am sick of using alveys. I would much prefer to use a spin real. With the low mount i find it difficult to cast with a spin real. So it is either selling the rod, or converting the low mount to a mid mount. Perhaps some pipe or something?? Any advice? Can it be done, if not im open to selling it for the right price.

FW, practice using your spin reel on the low mount, it can be done both comfortably and efficiently. I have been using spinning reels on low mounts for 15 years or more.
The South African surf and rock fishos often use multipyler (overhead) reels on low winch mounts, I dont know how they do it though; using a spin reel on a low mount is very easy by comparison.
If you want to extend the butt of the rod, stick the rod into the extention, rather than the extention into the rod, if you get what I mean. Use some high quallity epoxy to glue the pieces together.
    Cheers.
