    NMEA Conversion

    Hi.

    I have a Furuno FCV 585 Sounder NMEA 0183 and a Yami 60HP Outboard NMEA 2000.

Which is the best NMEA conversion kit to use for this application, and why:

NGW-1-ISO or IF NMEA2K2 (Furuno version)

Have a look at the manual for the FCV, and check to see if it has "engine data" pages. If not, find out how, if at all, you would be able to display the engine data from your Honda on the FCV... It might not be possible or worth doing.

    Cheers

Page 4, 16 and 36 may have some relevant info on this (se link).

Can you confirm if I am able to view engine parameters on this Furuno?

    Re: NMEA Conversion

The 585 wont display anything the engine will output... get an NMEA 2000 compliant display and you have a chance of seeing engine data

NMEA 0183 and 2000 are like the railway line and bitumen...no way will they meet
