    If the rod blank has a rough finish then do a coat then apply the sticker then coat over that. If the blank is smooth then apply the sticker and then coat.A little trick that I dont normally tell anyone. Warm the blank wi a flame first, then apply the sticker. This will stop the edges from lifting. Try Ros at the rod works or Garry Howard in Brisbane, Im sure either one would have these stickers.

    Hey there bigjudge,

    Try this;

    This is the best decal paper I've found that works on rods. You can buy them in A4 size and print them on either a Laser or Inkjet printer. Just buy the one you need for your printer. They come in 2 flavours, clear or white. So if you don't have a printer that prints white ink, get the white paper and you'll be set.
    I use Adobe Illustrator to make my Logo and Model number then print off my next 6 models in one go. I cut them up and dip the cut out in a bowl of water. You just slip off the ultra thin layer of plastic that basically moulds and sticks to the blank. You gently use your wet finger to rub out the air bubbles and let it dry. I stick it directly on the blank. It's worked very well every time.

    Hope that helps.
