    Fiberglass lay up colours

Hey guys, starting rebuilding a late 60's early 70's formula. Looking at all the refurbs I see some boats with brown glass and others with green. What's the difference. ?

I bought a boat thathad the osmosis treatment in 1988. The epoxy they recoated it with (Ampreg, I think) was a beautiful emerald green. As far as I know glass is clear when wetted out

Green is normal polyester resin starts blue and turns green when mixed with the catalist, vinylester is brown out of the tin but is normaly clear when cured, you might be seeing the colour of the ply under the glass ,but some epoxys have a brown look to them depending on brand and mix ratio like the 2to1 and 3to1 with out seeing what you have looked at its only a guess.

As indicated above, it is the color of the resin moreso than the glass itself.

Most (if not all) of the early HH were green.
