I need to purchase a new transducer for my sounder and I am after expert advice from those in the know.
The boat is a 21ft CC trailer boat and I want to be able to find the deep drop fish on the shelf off SE QLD, as well as the fish in close and I do a considerable amount of trolling.

I am tending toward a TM260 1kW transom mount. Available for AU $870 in the US.
I know they are the size of a brick and wonder how much spray will be coming off it at full noise.

Should I ditch that idea and look for a better sounder.
