You need to ride in both to appreciate the differences particularly in short sharp chop. 1100kg for a 233 is way too light IMO, especially when you consider how the bulk of these boats are used, be they owned by amateur or professional fishermen.
Whilst I agree excessive weight can be a real problem, I don't think any of the current 233's builds fit in to that category. Increased build weights (up to 30% and more) is noted across the majority of boat manufacturers including those that we refer to as production boat builders. That in itself tells speaks volumes about the benefits that can and are realised through heavier, yet not excessively heavy, builds.
