    Stessco bass tracker thoughts?

Looking to upgrade the little tinny (3.55 1972 de havilland) to a bass tracker SF 410. Does anyone have any thoughts or information on these boats. They tick the boxes in price and fuctionality. I am a bit worried about the 30hp max. The hull weight is around 270kgs. Dealer says 30 suzi 2 stroke is ecxellent or merc. I am tossing up weather to spend extra and go an etec but the wife is happier if i spend less. The etec is a bit over 5 grand where the suzi is a bit over 3. This may mean the i pilot will have to wait though. Cheers.

Hi Mate. I have a 4.2 bass tracker with a 40 hp 4 stroke Suzuki on mine and I couldn't be more happier with the boat and its preformance. It does everything I want to do in it. Great boat and great motor too.
    Cheers, Doug.
Love to use Preditek or Kingfisher lures or Viva Lures when I am out fishing.

Thanks for the reply mate. The 410 maxes out at 30 hp. Do you think that will be sufficient?

I dont know the conditions you will be operation it in, or if you will be carrying a heavy load. My boat carries a heavy load most times we go out fishing. It should be ok though. People buying a new boat should always go for the max hp for the boat because you can always use less throttle on a larger motor, but if you buy a smaller hp rated for the boat and find it is under powered then you cant go bigger without a lot more expense.
    Cheers, Doug.

I don't have any advice about the 30 hp on the Bass tracker, but I have to say that the i pilot is bluddy great, so if the boat & the 30 suit your needs don't ditch the leccy, they are worth their weight in gold IMO
