Daiwa Ballistic & Exceler TSH Spinning reels

Hi guys,

Just after your thoughts and experience with Daiwa Ballistic And Exceler TSH spinning reels.
I know there is a difference in price, is it worth paying the extra for a Ballistic ?

Will be looking at the 4000 sizes for bay fishing for Snapper with bait and plastics. Also will load it up for throwing slugs at Mackerel through the Summer months.
Reel will go on a S008 Samarai, 7 foot 4-8kg.

Found some good prices O/S, with cheap postage.

Fire away, keen to hear anything positive or negative !!

Hey mate, I've got a Daiwa Ballistic and I'm pretty happy with it.

The only gripe I have with it is the handle is a tad small and kind of the wrong shape for me to comfortably use it for long periods of time.

I'm going to change the handle on it when I get the chance to something a bit more ergonomic but apart from that I say do it mate.

It's the 4000 size mate.

Not sure where you are but if you want to try it out for a while before commiting to one your more than welcome to use it for a while.I'm at Redland Bay, It's on a 7ft 6-12 kg Daiwa Saltiga G rod but I can always take it off if you want to just play with the reel for a few weeks, I won't be using it.

I am around the Bay to the North of you at Wynnum.

Think I'm almost convinced I will be going with that reel, so the order will not be far away.
Would hate to borrow your reel and scratch it or worse ?
